I am a california transplant to De and I love living in Milford. I have seen my stepdaughter go through the schools here from elementary to high school and they have a great educational system. (this is coming from someone who lived in both cities and country) Here in Milford, you can get a nice house starting in the 250,00. I paid that for a 3 bedroom ranch style home on a 1.6 acres in north milford area. there is also no sales tax here in delaware so that also helps cut cost on living.
One thing is when the summer comes you probably should think of your commute route as most of the hwy's here in summer are jammed with tourists going to the beach. You have been given pretty good info regarding the area in other posts. Milford is about 20 minutes south of Dover and have access to the beach areas as well as Dover. It is in both kent and sussex counties ( i live in kent). if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. Debby
