What you do, is, after the parade, jump in your car (parked a few steps from the breakfast site) and motor on over to WBSimpson School. Park your car, get on a bus, and ride the 3 blocks to the Festival. Then, they will bring you back to WBSimpson. They loop around every 5-10 minutes, all day long. Nobody has to walk, except around the Festival, which covers a 3 block area, and is a lot of walking on a hot day. You'll catch on!

Oh-my-gosh, all I have to do is go away for a few days to a partial family reunion (lots of fun, by the way) and I come back, with my usual 4 minutes to read and reply, and discover this Peach Porch Party. Also, something, somewhere about rdlr turning into a water-carrier.

Husband and I, rudely inviting ourselves, propose to come in disguise as Newcomers. After more than 30 years in this state, not easy. But how about if we wear T-shirts with the names of states like Idaho (never been there) and New Mexico (not there either) on them? And--let's see--we could loudly mispronounce Leipsic and Frederica. What else???

But no. Doomed to failure. Will not pass any Real Newcomer test. Will likely blurt out that, yes, I do remember the Newstand, and when Sears was located on Loockerman, when the bestest, biggest movie theater was at the Blue Hen Mall--and when there wasn't even a McDonald's in town!

Ah, so sad.......

YOU PASSED !!!!! That is the answer to the SECRET QUESTION! HOW DID YOU KNOW? That is really funny, Annie, about the tee-shirts I've always enjoyed your genuine sense of humor! We'd love to have you Annie, and your hubby, For Real, Sincerely, and For Sure!! There was a Deb, who's been living here awhile who might be stopping by. Summering, well, my dear friend Summering can't make it. She's not "moving" here, but has a place down at the beach. I'm trying to force her here, but she's dog-sitting! She would be the peaches on top of the cake, if she could make it. I love her dearly! And Rockky, another dear friend whom I love, would be EXTRA peaches and whipped cream on top of the cake. She can't make it, and I'm bummed out about that. But, I've had 4 calls total, from NY, NJ and PA newcomers, moving here before the end of the year. Don't know if they will show up on our porch, but they are certainly welcome! All will be scouting out rural properties that weekend, and none know one another. And of course, our Guests of Honor, Movn2del and family will be here, as well as MaryCh and her extended family.

I am just SO enthused about this Newcomers Welcome Party. My experience meeting newcomers has been Nearly perfect, and meeting new friends has been Better than perfect!

Annie, PM me about your reunion details, when you get time, please!

Thanks for the shuttle tips, rdlr! I keep forgetting that there are 2 festivals going on the same day... the one in the town of Wyoming, and the "other" one out at Fifer Orchards. Once you mentioned the 3 blocks to the festival, the light bulb went off!

For a while there, I thought you were proposing we newbies walk out to Fifer's. I know for folks as spry as you, that would not be a problem. If I remember correctly, the two events just happen to be on the same weekend, but are not related, is that right?

Annie, if you need an "out of state" shirt to borrow, PM me. We have all kinds of "foreign" shirts.. every one from DE I've bought so far keeps going home with someone else! We could REALLY be out of towners and wear Hawaiian shirts, ya think?? Hope the reunion was a big success... and good to see you made it back home safe.

Mary

Golly gees....you guys are havin' just too much fun!!! I'm sorry that we won't be able to join yous (I'm NEPA now..teehee!) The gathering sounds wonderful and chocked full of people I'd love to meet. Leave it to rdlr to throw open the front door and put out the Welcome mat!! The hostess with Delaware's mostest!!

I'll sip a Peach Schnapps in honor and respect to you all. Just do a "Fuzzy Dance" on the walk to the festival....choreography is individual choice.

Have fun!!

Oh I am so cranky about it.......Ohhhhhhhh Boooooooo.
The Mummers you say. I mean our very own PA Mummers..........in person.
You all on the "Supported Porch" Oh I am so ready.

The thing about adjustments........hysterical.
Might adjust, won't ever adjust, think they are adjusted........
How could anyone not love, love DE. Its a dreamy place, soft and free.

I guess the only peach I will have is the one on the counter as I look down at the little bishon I am watching.......

Rockky, where are you? Are you still home here in PA by me?........
We need to hold a pity party........

Because all the fun will be in DE on rdlrs Porch..........
Anyone want a dog for the week.......? So sweet of you to invite me rdlr............I am kicking myself as we speak.
