Default Welcome to Newcomers, Movn2del & Family

Yet, another great family is moving to Delaware this coming week! Movn2del and family are packed up, and ready to leave New York for Kent County, Delaware. By now, the computer is already in a box, which explains why it's dark in here

Typically, Delawareans are welcoming to those moving in to the State, especially those so warm, friendly and genuine as this family. So glad Lake Forest School District gave you individualized attention, Movn! And, so glad you didn't take forever and ever mulling this move over! We're blessed to have you in our midst and wish you well. Look for a little Welcome Surprise, shortly! See you soon!!!

Thanks for the welcome! We really hope to be good neighbors in our new community. The other night our neighbors here gave us a suprise going away party. It really caught us off guard!
Our computers (4 PC's & 2 laptops) will be one of the last things to pack. They're afraid of the dark!
We're looking forward to beginning our new life in Delaware & meeting you all!

Yeah, but the mouse loves the dark!

Cool! What great neighbors you have there! You will be in more of a rural area here, but I hope your new neighbors will be as friendly! I was past your beautiful new home again Friday. It's such a picturesque setting there.

Thanks rldr for the warm welcome. We are both nervous and anxious about the move. I think anyone would be. It's a big change. We will welcome it with open arms.

No computers in the boxes, as hubby said. Even when they are, it won't be for long. Probably only a few hours. Mice......none for me. I have a laptop and don't need one.

This was a fairly quick decision for us. We put in all the effort required and everything, so far, has gone very smoothly. I hope it continues this way.

I have only good things to say about Lake Forest School District. They are changing with the growth, the staff seems to be very caring and the parents get involved. Can't say much more until after we have fully experienced it. I do have good feelings though my feelings are usually right, from my experience.

A surprise! I love surprises. We went over to a neighbor's house the other night. She had invited us over for a goodbye coffee and cake night. She also baked us a pie when we moved in, to welcome us. Yes, some people in NY still do that. To our surprise, when we walked in, six of our other neighbors were there! That was a real surprise. We even got cards and gifts for the new house!

I have no doubt that our new neighbors will be just as nice. This experience proved to me that if you extend yourself, as we have, to your neighbors, it comes back tenfold. The new neighborhood isn't all that much more rural than what we are leaving. The properties are bigger but the neighbors aren't miles away. We also walk the neighborhood because of the puppies and us needing exercise. It's amazing how many neighbors you meet while walking the puppies!

Thanks for the compliment on the house being picturesque. Hopefully we will only add to it. We love flowers, bushes, trees and all that good stuff!

Hopefully we will get the chance to see a lot of you in DE! I know there are already 2 people that I want to get to know better and look forward to meeting you both.

movn2del.........I know this is a really big thing, to uproot and move down here to lil' ole Delaware. But, we're ready to welcome you and your family with open arms.

In fact, the Welcome Party for Your Family, and for the Mary & Family Party (because she's moving into her new house in August) and the Mary's Mom and Dad Welcome Party (because they just moved to Delaware) will be 8 a.m. or so, August 2nd, on our front porch. As mentioned, the parade starts at 9 a.m. The porch will be full of food and laughter, then we'll walk to the Peach Festival.

Also, if anybody else is moving to Kent County, Delaware anytime soon, please PM me. We'd love to include you in our little Welcome to Delaware "porch breakfast" (with a parade to watch....How exciting is that?) and I'll give you the address and details. We're just typical locals, extending a small town welcome to you.

Boy are you fast! I spoke with Bill and we were going to tell you we weren't going to commit. Just kidding. We will be there with bells on. See you and whoever else at about 8 am on the 2nd. BTW......are Skip and Cassidy invited? Would they be welcome at the Festival?

GIRL!!! Be here! We'd love to have you. It would be the peach topping on the cake to see you! Really!

Oh, Movn......I think there's a rule, no dogs at the Festival, but I'll check. I believe it's a town liability issue, but I could be wrong.

I went to the peach festival many years ago but haven't been since. I remember parking was hard to find, I parked at a friends house who no longer lives in town. Where would you suggest parking?
