Nice surprise last night! Those with cabin fever were out in full force! Although it was about 37 degrees, there was no wind and it felt like a mild 50 degrees. We visited downtown Dover thinking not much would be going on, but we were pleasantly surprised. The Loockerman Street Christmas lights were still on, forming a beautifully lit archway to local taverns/restaurants. Happy, friendly people were out and about walking, on their way or coming from W.T. Smithers, Loockerman Exchange, Golden Fleece, and Fraziers on Mirror Lake. From venue to venue, we joined forces with other cabin fever(ers) for lots of fun, chatter and good food. Heading north to McGlynns was not a good idea, since it was way too crowded, so we continued on to Dover Downs. Nary one close parking spot could be found, and the casino was packed. Waiting lines were long for Frankies & Doc McG's Oyster House. It was definitely a good sign, though! Wonder how Wilmington and Rehoboth were.....the same?

I'm not much of a gambler(always lose) but I really like the Dover casino over the one we have up here at Delaware Park. Thats great everyone being out last night. I was on Union street last night in Wilmington and it was pretty empty, Trolley Square had a some people out and about as usual but that was just a pass through for me. We usually head out to a bar on Greenhill Avenue or in Trolley Square. On Saturday nights.

Maybe the bar/dinner traffic varies per time of evening. I just heard from neighbors who were in Rehoboth Beach last night. They said Rehoboth Avenue was busy, and with lots of happy people, too. We need every bit of encouragement we can get, after this stuck-in-the-snow winter we've had.
Maybe Doc can give us a Saturday night report on Greenville.
