i was reading on a local study that delaware leads the nation in ciphaning gas from cars and boats...surprising 3.5 times the national average...

why do you think this is? im baffled

It is probably somewhat proportional to the unemployment rate. People will do what they have to do to get by. If they have no money for gas, they steal it. There has probably been an increase in shoplifting as well.

Stealing gas.
It could be young beach vacationers from out of the State doing the stealing. My brother was just south of Delaware at Maryland's resort of Ocean City where his gas was hijacked recently.

Because in Texas,you can shoot people for stealing from your property. Not that I would. I did not know that we were 3.5% above the nat. avg. But that probably is because of the size of our state vs our population with high unemployment.
No facts were accumalated for my statement. Just guessing here.
