Hi everybody,

I have received a job offer in downtown Wilmington and I was wondering what the commute would be like from Middletown.

Do a lot of people do this commute on a regular basis? How long does it usually take on average? How bad does Routes 1, 13, and 95 get during the am and pm rush?

Also- which way is better to get into downtown? Taking Rt1 north to Rt13 north or taking Rt1 all the way to 95 north?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

The short answer is 50 minutes; no quicker that 40 minutes. I can't help you with much I-95 knowledge since I avoid it like the plague. Taking Route 1 & 13 avoids most of the hassles.

In my opinion, jdoll said it just right. Although, I have to add, we have only ventured to the Amtrak station in what I consider downtown Wilmington. The train station is pretty much a straight shot up Route 13; typically, we only hit traffic right around the place where Route 40 intersects with 13.

I think during rush hour, the time is probably pretty accurate as well. That of course is without any traffic snarls.
