Red face Maybe Delaware??

My fiance and I are getting married in December, we just sent out the invitations. Our lease is up this month (october), so we either need to resign the lease or get out. We've decided we're going stay for the year and then we plan on moving to Delaware, but I dont know where to move in Delaware. I found one apt complex in Newark it's called Village of Windhover...if anyone can tell me anything about this place please do! Is it as good as the book makes it look!? Have a year to make up my mind, but I'm so anxious!

The apartments might be nice but the surrounding area is a not. Avoid anything off of Smallys Dam RD. It's very close to Lexington Green. Lots of drugs and lots of robberies. Unless you like that sort of thing.

Baconator is correct; the area around Smallys Dam Road is not good. High crime/drug area in the surrounding apartments and townhouses.

i lived in windhover with my mother in high school and then in it's neighbor village of canterbury after i got married, the apartments themselves aren,t so bad but the area isn't the best. it's close to the mall and major roads as well as grocery and retail but something a little safer might be christiana meadows they are a gated apartment complex a little further down the road a little safer i have heard, not the best school district though if you have children... middletown is a little further south but safer and a better school district shopping is popping up all over there too.. good luck

I googled apartments in New Castle County as my knowledge of some of these complexes is dated and may not be accurate. City-data has had prior discussions about this topic and I have found most of the information to be accurate. Of course this is just preliminary info and there is no substitute for going to the sites yourself in person. I had an office in the Arbor Point complex Rt 4 Stanton, things seemed to be well maintained, a relative had an apartment in Chrisitana Meadows and it was very nice. This was a few years ago.

I was just in my friend's new place in Village of Canterbury..

Apparently they are weeding out the bad people, and the apartment itself was absolutely beautiful.

I didn't think it looked sleezy or bad at all.
