Places to live near water and Dover?
Dear Anyone,
I am considering (very early stages) a job relocation and have done some searches. I am not finding the information I am looking for and hope someone can assist.
I am interviewing for a job in Dover, we are very much water people and currently live on a large lake in NC. Can anyone give me suggestions for towns, cities, villages that are close to the coast?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Little River, Leipsic, and Kitts Hummock come to mind.

Do you want to buy waterfront property or can you be close to the water? Dover isn't that far from the water, and most of the land in between is wildlife refuge.

If you want great beach towns, you can go 45-50 minutes away to Lewes or Rehoboth Beach......both really nice. The closer you get to the water, the more expensive it will be. Milton is about 1/2 hour from Dover and only 10-15 minutes from the beaches -- it is a really cute town with reasonable prices.

Hi mergency,
The first question that comes to my mind is what sort of water are you interested in living near? As we all know, there is a vast difference between lake side living and bay, inlet, or even oceanside.
Having moved to central DE from central NC, your post caught my eye. Perhaps, if you post more about what you like about being where you are now (I do know of about a half dozen "large lakes" in NC), you might get more response to your inquiry.
Welcome to the DE forum, and keep searching and asking questions. I've met quite a few folks from NC that have come to DE, and not all are military moves. We really like it here, and are quite happy we made this move!
