Question Favorite Gift-y shops?

Hello! It's tough to do holiday shopping when you're new to an area! Does anyone have any favorite gift-y type shops, hopefully close to Newark, but even in the general vicinity? Not Hallmark/Precious Moments-type stuff but more unique/artsy/international, although not crafty. I'm sure there are places in Wilmington, but I don't even know where to start.

I had a favorite store called Little Luxuries in Madison, WI, on the off chance that there's someone here from there!

Thanks in advance!

Heart and Home is a good choice. It is a family-owned business and in several locations. My favorite is the one in People's Plaza. The daughter runs that one, and she is always pleasant and extremely helpful. Her mother runs the one in Newark--not so of either.

Another one is the Diva Gift Shop in Fox Run Shopping Center (the store runs parallel to Route 72). This is a mother-daughter owned shop and they have many unique gifts. Much of the clothing is made in America. Their selection includes Spanx, Polish Pottery, handbags, jewelry, Not Your Daughters Jeans, nightgowns--just a little bit of everything. Their sales are also very good.

The best, best, best......Everything but the Kitchen Sink in Hockessin. They have the absolute nicest gifts and free, gorgeous gift wrapping. This is worth the trip - probably 15 minutes from Newark. I live in Dover and go there when I'm in the area. It's awesome.

My favorite gift shop in Lewes is in the outlets and it is called Kirklands. They have very nice gifts at reasonable prices. Great home things. We just love the store.

You might want to walk on Main St. of Newark. They have many gift shops. I don't remember most of their names I think one is called Grass Roots? There is also one shop facing the parking lot where you park to go to Iron Hill. Maybe someone else can help with all the names!!

katreese, I haven't visited the Winterthur gift shop for years, but they used to have a nice one, and can't imagine that they don't still. Hope so, anyway!
