Default Any info on Millsboro.

We live in the Philly area, and are looking to move. I saw a couple of Moblie homes that looked nice, right by the water in a community. Does anyone know what this area is like. The town is Millsboro. Our Children are all grown, its just hubby and myself. Thanks so much. Gail

Default millsboro

?I just bought a cottage in an area called "Oak Orchard", but my address is Millsboro, The cottage is our beach home and we do not own the land, but we own a house with the land up in New Castle County. Our cottage was bought in that area after we searched these for 3-4 years. I love my cottage because we're far enough away from Routes 13 and 1, yet it's close enough that we can go into Rehoboth Beach to use their beaches, eat out, and of course ride the rides on the boardwalk. I always say to my friends and family that we're close enough to the resort town to enjoy it at a whim, yet close enough to sit in your yard and hear just simply-crickets because the laid-back atmosphere is unbelievable. Believe it or not, I'm in need to sell one of my homes in Delaware so I can move to Florida, and well, you probably guesses it, the cottage will not be sold. Lastly, while the house market is dying, nothing in sussex county would help you believe that it was true, Every single year these houses go up and up, and rarely will you see a foreclosure down there.

If you don't own the property then I do not recommend that you buy it. Ground rents are going crazy. Millsboro is a lovely area and centrally located so you can get to a lot of other places easy.

I use to live in Oak Orchard and, like you say, it's far enough away to be close to the excitement. Rt. 24 and Rt. 5 have plenty of shops now and if one goes to the town of Millsboro there are more restaurants, antique shops etc. I really liked the area.

Millboro is a very nice town. Although It was recently sited as a cancer cluster down there. I have been going down to that area since I was a kid. I'm 59 now. I Love it down there.
