Dr Gaska, is our favorite - she has terriers and loves our schnauzers - but doesn't work all the time
We used Lums for a long time and Dr. Kram was our favorite. We were there every two weeks because our dog needed shots for severe arthritis and hip dysplasia. It was $80 every two weeks. We stopped using them when a stray and seemingly feral cat showed up at our house in October 8 years ago. Once we were able to catch her, we thought she was going to have kittens. Dr. Thompson, the owner, told us she was definitely expecting at least two kittens and that the kittens would arrive around Thanksgiving. When she didn't have the kittens at Thanksgiving, he said to expect them at Christmas. When no kittens showed up at Christmas, he said definitely New Year's. Again, no kittens. Dr. Thompson's staff indicated to me that he probably had made an error. We finally took her to another vet who after an exam told us that she had been spayed. I tried to speak to Dr. Thompson but he refused and when I wrote to him, he never responded. I really believe that a brand new vet out of veterinary school would have known that Lola was not pregnant and I have never been back. I am glad that you have a vet there that you like, but I would not ever see Dr. Thompson. I felt then that he should do more fishing and less doctoring. And, I really just wanted him to say that he was sorry that he made a mistake and charged us for unnecessary visits.

I would like to inform you that you have incorrect information. Dr. Ford has not worked at Lums Pond for a while, and Dr. Gaska does NOT have terriers, she has pure breed poodles ONLY. Dr. Ford has her own practice and is doing very well, I guess a lot of other people like her. Her first concern has always been the health of the animals.

Dr. Ford is now at Bay Animal Hospital, less than 3 miles south of Odessa, right on Rt 13. The phone number there is 279-1082.

Well that is good to know...she always acted like she couldn't stand it when we brought in the dogs and her demeanor towards both my wife and I had us specifically ask for our dogs NOT to see her because we didn't want to deal with her.

It's good that she is doing well...my discussions with the techs working the desk made me think my wife and I were not the 1st to say what we did...she may have been good with some people which is great but we didn't get that treatment, especially when asking questions when we 1st got our 1st dog...it was almost like I should have known the answers already.

I didn't know Dr Gaska has poodles...she always mentioned terriers and how "terrier people" would love the traits on the 2 dogs that we had her see...she made me believe she had them without saying but then again, I never asked.

Default NOT VCA Glasgow

Took our dog there, symptoms of low body temp, labored breathing, low blood pressure, non responsive....for $450 was given wrong diagnosis, was told she would be fine, she was dead 72 hours later.

Try Animal Haven in Bear, they are excellent.

I just visited their website. Intersting. They started as a "mobile clinic". Now they have an office on rt 40 in bear, and will soon be opening a grooming and medical center just south of the summit bridge.

Anyone else have experience with any of these veterinarians?

We have been taking our dog and cats to Lums Pond Animal Hospital on Rt 72. We are extremely happy with the care they've gotten and their prices are great. Their hours are also really convenient - they're open until 8pm on weeknights.
