Default Whole Foods

I thought Whole Foods was coming to Wilmington? Is that true or not?

Whole Foods wanted some property up on 202 (farmland near AIG, I think). They ran into considerable resistance with their proposals with regard to traffic flow, etc. It was still up in the air last I knew, but the whole project seems also to have fallen into obscurity. It was said at the time this was all getting media attention that Whole Foods was only interested in this one location and did not wish to consider other locations in greater Wilmington. It's unfortunate, but it seems they wanted to be on 202 in order to readily attract customers from PA. My guess is that the whole thing is dead for the foreseeable future.

Oh I so wish they would put one in Delaware. Its the one thing I miss about living in Pa. When ever we had to go to Pittsburgh we always went to the whole foods store. I like trader Joes too but there is such a better variety at the whole foods store.

I think Whole Foods is a really good, desirable resource to have locally, but I have only ever done a minority of my shopping there when I had it available locally in Austin, TX. I wouldn't knock it so completely!
