Default "Country" areas in NC County?

Hi again. I've been perusing neighborhoods in New Castle County for the last several months, more center and West, as I don't want to be near Marcus Hook or between 95 and 495. Some beautiful areas, but mostly developments. Are there any "country" areas in the county, likened to Chester County's Chadds Ford or Kennett Square? Any suggestions would be most helpful. thanks.

Depends on your definition of country and what you can afford. Greenville and Centreville, as well as Hockessin, could fit your description. These are all north of Wilmington, sandwiched into the DE bit of the Appalachian Piedmont, abutting PA. Hockessin has more affordable properties than the other two areas and some of it feels quite rural, even though close to shopping and other necessities.
