Default Any Jobs in Sussex County, DE

My daughter and her 3 grown children moved to Long Neck, DE. She finally got a job at Royal Farms. Her grown 3 children are yet to find work. They said they tried everywhere. Their funds are going fast and they might find themselves homeless. They have been there since the middle of May.

Are the jobs really hard to get in that area - not far from Rehobath Beach? What state programs could they get since they are adults?

Thank you for listening.

Not sure what their skills are or what field(s) they're interested in or if they've been to job fairs etc but it might be time for them to just get something /anything, just to put food on the table - am not overly familiar w/ that area and I know times are hard everywhere but what about retail - even flipping burgers - it would help out their mother and 3 more incomes would tide them over til something better comes along

Things are very tight in the area. The resort has employment for hotels, restaurants, and hospitality. There are many retirees in Sussex county. Lots of people have taken part time work. There are always jobs for the trades and construction, home building, maintenance and repair. There are also jobs in the medical field with the BeeBee Hospital, Doctors offices, emergency centers, and elder care.
There are jobs in criminal justice, police, courts, probation, and corrections.
Lots of people commute to surrounding counties: kent County, New Castle county, or the state of Maryland.

Just to be accurate, it's Beebe Hospital, not BeeBee (in case someone tries to google it or otherwise locate such a facility). Its chief facility is in Lewes.

I think jobs are hard to find here especially if you want one that pays decent. My husband drives to Maryland to work everyday.

Too far for them to travel - transportation problems. The family was given a verbal notice to move. Landlord will not reduce rent payments. They are now forced to live in a car or tent. Charities are not becoming too bogged down and long waiting list for any kind of help.
