It sounds like, in my sister's price range, it's going to be tough to find something decent. She doesn't want to have to be afraid to walk around by herself at night. She wants to be able to park her car outside and not worry about it. A place where you can leave your house unlocked (not that she does that) and not have to worry about it. From what I'm getting, even in the nicer neighborhoods, you have to watch your back. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Beckycat, I don't believe that we live in a time where you can leave your doors unlocked anywhere. My advice is to meet the neighbors, talk to police (that will usually be off the record because they usually will not give definites about any area; I know this for a fact.), and drive into interested areas on weekend evenings. One development that your sister might be interested in is Pinewoods. Prices have been going down, and the townhomes are (or at least were) very nice. Usually starter homes, but not necessarily in today's economy.

I appreciate all your help. My sister should be in the area in Sept to check it out. Any other info would be greatly appreciated. Where is Pinewoods located?

Pinewoods is on Route 71 between 72 and 40. It's very close to Fox Run Shopping Center that has an Acme, Happy Harry's, IHOP, doctors, etc. Very convenient location.
