Default relocation advice, cool place to live

We're are looking for a cool town to live in the Northeastern part of Maryland or Northern Delaware. We'd like a more modern/trendy area with cool restaurants, entertainment and activities. Options for outdoor activities is also a plus. We need to be handy to major highways as work will require trips to the DC/Baltimore and New Jersey areas several times a month. Does anyone have any suggestions? We've never been to this area of the US.

Definitely Wilmington, Delaware based on those criteria. If you'd like something smaller and not urban, I'd recommend Havre De Grace, Maryland.

When Niceguy writes Wilmington - please don't concentrate on City of Wilmington but more like Wilmington area. Zip Codes 19808,19805,19803,19810,19713, 19707,19702,19711 This is not to say that other zip codes are not worth investigating but these would give a large pool of possibilities.

Living in Delaware would be better on the pocketbook, plus it is located halfway between DC and NYC w/balto & Philly within 1± hour drive.

I would look into the Newark, Delaware/Elkton, Maryland area. The University of Delaware downtown area is pretty trendy and you are so close to 95. The waterfront area of Wilmington is neat also!
