Directions to the Town:
From Rt. 1 (Bethany Beach) take Rt. 26 West, which starts out as Garfield Parkway, then the name changes to Atlantic Avenue. Just stay on that street/road. Go through Ocean View and it's the next town on Rt. 26. Very nice area with so much to do.

Directions to Millville By the Sea:
Rt 26 W to left on RT 17 (Roxana Rd.) left @ Burbage Rd, right on Substation Rd.
Thanks for such great information again rdlr.Your always there when I need you.

My husband and I are investigating Millville By the Sea. We have a large group, for now to vacation but possibly as a retirement home for us, later. We are concerned with the amount of traffic on the one street leading to the beach, because of all the Ocean Views and surrounding area development. Is there an alternative route to the beaches? Thanks

I looked at Millville by the Sea when I was checking out the area for a new home. They have really nice models but I didn't want to drive 26 every time I wanted to get to Rt 1. I also didn't like that it was not on or very close to water (bay) and didn't have mature trees. I wound up at Bayfront off Rt 24 which is probably not much better, but I have found a way to avoid 24 altogether to get to Rt. 1. For summer weekends, to avoid the crowds, I will stay at the neighborhood pool which sits right on the wetlands of Rehoboth Bay so I won't miss the ocean much. Save the ocean for weekdays!

I live in heritage shores a 55 and over community. I am 58 years old have been looking at Millville by the sea it seems great. the facet that it is not 55 and over is the best thing about it. although most of the residents are 50 and above as with all of the shore developments. the benefits of it not be 55 is people are not getting sick on a regular basis ambulances are not a regular sight. I realize if I was 70 or above 55 and over would be great but I have watched to many people get sick, pass away end others end up in wheel chairs. I should have listened to my DR. when he said to stay young you need some young people around you. Millville by the sea is well rounded, Miller and Smith will also be building there some time in 2014. Whatever you decide I hope you will be happy.
