Default Renters insurance and furnished houses in Wilmington

Hi, I have two questions I hope you can help me with:

I was just doing some research on the Wilmington area to get some background info. I've been on a lot of real estate websites and many mention that in order to rent, I need to provide proof or renters insurance. Does anyone know how much this costs? Is this a monthly cost, annual?

Secondly, are furnished houses available in the Wilmington area (this can included suburbs obviously)? I haven't been able to find any, with the exception of semi-detached, or town houses. I'm really looking for a detached home. Please advise.

And if this helps, the areas I've mainly been looking at are Trolley Sq, Highlands, Wawaset Park, Greenville, Centreville, Pike Creek, and Newark..

Thanks!

Yup - go to whoever you insure your car with and get a policy with a multi-line discount. Renter's insurance is a low-cost security to protect you and your property.

The places requiring you to have renter's insurance get lower insurance rates because all their tennants have insurance for their units.

It makes sense to get it - I have heard too many stories of someone getting their flat screen ripped off along with other electronics and jewelry and they didn't have renter's coverage. A $100 or so yearly fee would have replaced most of their items (provided they had documentation of ownership).
