Default Middletown & Traffic

I've seen lots of threads about traffic in DE being horrible in the summer. Is that the case near Middletown, as well? Trying to figure out how my husband's commute to just north of Wilmington will be impacted, if at all. Thanks!

Your husband should only be affected if he works Saturdays or Sundays. Beach traffic is largely a Saturday, mid-morning to early afternoon and Sunday, mid-afternoon to late evening event. Backups at that time can be minimized by using Route 13.The worst Monday-Friday traffic is normally the Monday morning after NASCAR race weekend in Dover.

From the Middletown High School/ACME area the standard Mon-Fri commute is 45 minutes to downtown Wilmington via Route 1 to Route 13 to I-495. I avoid the Route 1/I-95 interchange like the plague.

I hope this helps and will be happy to assist if you have further questions.

Thanks, this was very helpful.

Fortunately, he'll be able to make his own schedule most days so he'll probably be leaving at such a time that he can avoid rush hour.

my feeling is that right now you might get to north wilmington faster than from one side of town to the other

traffic in middletown got really annoying, can't wait that main street is being finished.
st. anne's road construction work will last another 10 months or so .....
