There are a few townhouses available for rent in that price range ($1100-1300) and in decent areas. Next question is do you have any pet(s). And do you have a preference in the type of heat ....sometimes that depends on where you are moving from and/or what are you used to?

Thank you all who responded - appreciate your time - guess the most important thing that I would be looking for is school district (elementry)

I/we would be renting first and looking to buy later on once we sell our residence in NY, we r moving for a job from NY.

Thanks in advance

JEFF

Red Clay is a better school district, for all grades. It's just a few miles from Christiana Mall. Price ranges for homes/rentals is about the same (varies by neighborhood).

FYI, I just -purchased- a very nice single family home on a third acre in Newark for that price range you listed. There are alot of townhome developments in New Castle county if you prefer it, I've been a renter for over years prior and hated it! There are some good deals out there now if you're in the market.

A recommendation as far as renting goes- check out the "Village of Barret's Run" They have large apartments and I believe townhomes for rent. Very quiet wooded area with a cute elementary litterally around the corner. I never felt uncomfprtable walking around the area with my family at night and theres a plethora of stores on Rt273 & Rt40 and only 5 mins to the mall.

I would not recommend christina school district (as always, there are some exeptions).
We once lived in brandywine school district (north wilmington), which was good, but the housing kind of expensive.
we then moved Appoquinimink
school district (middletown as the center) and are very happy with the schools. tons of kids around here.
right now they build anderson town homes just across from our neighborhood in willow grove mill.
