My hubby and I stumbled upon the place about 6 years ago. All I remember is that is was on the right side of a road. Maybe Route 13 South?
I loved the fully decorated trees on display there and we would like to show our toddler the sights.
Thanks!!!

Hello CPDL,
You didn't mention which part of the state you saw the red barn, but maybe you're speaking of Ronny's Garden World on Route 13 ??? I'm a born and bred Delaware person, and remember when Ronny's had the 'red barn' look. It's been remodeled now, and it's bigger and better. The Christmas Tree display is absolutely magical, and HUGE! Spring and summer their specialties are nursery stock, flowers, and garden gifts. Children and adults both flock to that place even more this time of year, and on weekends, parking is at a premium. Location is about 2 miles north of Smyrna.

Or, you could mean Willey Farms, about 7 miles north of Smyrna, near Townsend, also on Route 13. I was there last weekend and it, too, was absolutely beautiful. It also had the "barn" look at one time. Their Christmas tree display, though, is not as elaborate as Ronny's. What's different about Willey Farms, is they have a tremendous amount of fresh produce, nuts, baking supplies, organic foods, and candies, along with gifts, ornaments, furniture, trees and nursery stock. There's even a deli which stays very busy, and home baked pastry, pies and cakes.

Or, maybe neither one of these is the 'red barn' you saw six years ago. Worth a shot, though!

There used to be a place on Route 13 across from the Ches Del Diner. I'm fairly sure that it was a red building. Could that be where you are thinking? It's probably considered Middletown but I think the diner is in Port Penn.

Hi Sum! Yep, we have lots of 'red barn' type properties in Delaware, and some beautiful Christmas shops down in the Millsboro area! So many, everywhere, from Bobolas to Webbs to All Seasons. And how about Farmer Girl, down at Rehoboth, and that strip of others across the street and next to it?

SXM......Thanks for reminding me of the old Ches del Diner! I think you're right about the place across the street. I'll be up that way tomorrow, and will take a look.

Sorry to get so carried away CPDL. You opened a hornet's nest!

Definitely a red barn! I went past the one on 404 last week and there was no sign of life. Last Christmas I bought real duck decoys (for lawn ornaments) as presents. And, I was there this past spring for garden flowers. Don't know what happened. Quiet there.

There's another Elmer's Market on Route 16, east to west between Rt. 13 and Ellendale. That's been closed for a couple of years.

I hate to see these mom & pop businesses go out of business.

we frequently go to Coleman's christmas tree farm in Townsend, close to rt. 13, next to Middletown.
They had 1, now I think 2 red barns over there with christmas decoration. and yummy home-made ice cream

I believe Ronnys on Route 13 is the one.
The indoor decorated theme trees are awesome.
Thanks everyone...we will have to take a drive.
