For those of you living in Delaware and working in Maryland, I know you pay Md. taxes. How much more are the taxes than just living and working in De.?Or living and working in Md.? Is there also a special 1.25% add on tax?

The Maryland 1.25% special nonresident tax is to simulate the county tax that Maryland residents have to pay on top of the state tax. On one hand, it is better than being a MD resident because most counties have higher rates than 1.25%. On the other hand, it is a total rip off since nonresidents have no county in Maryland and presumably the state keeps it for themselves.

Your other questions depend on so many factors, that you really need to see an an expert... or... (gasp) download the instructions and figure it out yourself. Generally, though, by living in MD and working in DE, you will end up paying the higher of the two states and no more. But, you will have to fill out two returns.

A year ago, Delaware taxes were generally less than in Maryland for most people, but I don't know if that's still true now that DE jacked up the tax rates.

IT is much better to live and work in DE ... Preferably, with work from home for an employer in New York city (lol) ...that is a home run.
