hi,

my parents just bought a new house in the 19810 zip code area (if that helps with description) and i believe the general area is called Brandywine. they are approximately 5 minutes away from concord mall. does anyone know about this neighborhood, the safety, diversity, etc? any help would be much appreciated.

thanks,
charles

Depends on exactly where it is, but anywhere within 5 min of Concord Mall is a decent area. It's primarily white in that area, but Delaware is pretty diverse in general. I lived in that area for a while and I'd say it's very safe.

Default Been there, done that

I grew up in far Northern Delaware. I spent 26 years of my life there. I have lived in two other distant places now and consider that part of Delaware to be very safe, reasonably progressive and stable. Not a bad choice IMO.

Brandywine area has gotten quite crowded over the last 10 years. I was born and raised in 19803 and 19806 (downtown area). It's very safe and so darn convenient to several major cities, skiing, beach, you name it. I miss that the most about good old DE. NOT alot for kids to do though.

I live in that zip code. Yes it is safe. Very low crime personally in this area. I'm a few minutes from the same mall. As for diversity, sorry, I think it's primarily white right here.
