I am looking at purchasing a house in Wilmington. I am trying to verify how nice the area is and get a general idea as to what would be an average home price. The house I am looking at is near New Castle County River rd Park in the Bellefonte area.

Is that near Edgemoor Gardens or Kynlyn Apts....might be better to stay away from that area.

You have not given enough specifics (e.g.monthly budget etc) to help make comments on the real estate availability.

I'm not a real estate agent, but I've used two of them recently. I highly recommend that you contact an agent and work with him or her to help you find the right property, especially since as the buyer it doesn't cost you anything.

What about the area between the park and Mt Pleaseant Elementary? I'm not looking for an idea on how much the rents would be. But am curious about the average purchase price in this area for a small two story home.

Go to google earth, you can do a virtual tour by satelite of the entire vicinity... as if your there. I disagree with another post, Bellefonte...River Road Park... Mt. Pleasant Elemetary (in the 19809 zip code) are nice areas.

Kynlyn apartments on Kynlyn Rd., have been gone for at least 15yrs. Purchased by an upscale management co. and renovated, they're known as Village of Fox Point. Edgemore Gardens is far enough away not to be a problem. I've not heard complaints from ppl I know.

Homes prices there will vary.

Part of the River Road near the school is quite desirable. But the real estate inventory is quite varied to be able to give a narrow price range.

I understand on the variances. I am just trying to get a ballpark idea. Something like an average two story goes between $80,000 if it's a teardown up to $250,000 depending on variances.Or $850,000 if it is a teardown up to $1.5 million or something like this. I only have my phone to check the Internet and zillow does not work well on mobile phones. If someone could help that would be awesome!
