Default what part of Middletwon?

what developments in Middletown are closest to APG? We like the feel of Delaware (stores, shopping, schools) but know the commute is getting up there. Middletown seems quite big...are there "better" areas than others?

We live in The Legends and my husband's office is in Joppa, MD. It takes him about an hour to travel there. I would guess it would be about 45 min to Aberdeen. We have to travel north to get onto 95. There are many, many developments in Middletown. Ours is sort of close to the "downtown" area for shopping, etc.

Brennan Estates is the general start of Appo School Dist/Middletown. There are also a couple of developments on Bethel Church Rd west of 896 also.

There are lots of developments near Brennan Estates that go to Appo. I like that I live above the canal and still am part of Appo school district. We have a great feeder pattern too. My husband commutes 35 min to APG everyday. I think moving to Middletown would tack on an extra 15 min commute. Some neighborhoods above the canal include Bay Pointe, Clear Creek, Rosehill, Estates of Farmington and my favorite Belden.

Could anyone recommend staying above or below RT 299 (E Main St) and east or west of RT 301/71 (Peterson Rd)? Does it even matter? Thanks.

We live off of RT 299. Geographically, we're in Odessa but our address is Middletown. We love it here. It's slightly removed from everything so it's very quiet, but it's also very close to everything. My husband commutes to PA, and he loves that we are so close to 13, with minimal traffic getting there.

what's APG again ?

we live in Dove run, first development when you get off route 1 and make a right.

what I really like about here is being that close to banks, shops, restaurants, hair salon, starbucks, schools ....
we liked Brick Mill elementary and my children walked there every day - took them 5 minutes.

you can just walk anywhere - and we do that several times a week. and since the new WAWA is almost done ... having a gas station that close is going to be great too

APG is Aberdeen Proving Grounds, an army base in Md.

Middletown is very big, so from certain areas the commute will not be so bad, but from other areas it could be well over an hour commute.

We mapped it out and knew we needed to be right on the border of Md/De and we are. We are about 1/2 mile from Md.

I love De. and am very happy that we chose to move here.
