Roesville - A new Active Adult Community
I was at the ground breaking today and I also attended their seminar at the 55+ Expo at Dover Downs. Very impressive. I'm trying to learn as much as possible about the Active Adult Communities in Kent County. I've heard that by the year 2011, 70% of all Delawarians will be over the age of 55. It makes good sense for me to be informed. If you currently live in a 55+ community, please give me some feedback! What you hear from the actual homeowners is a true picture. If I am going to be recommending, I would like to have some good testimonials too. Thank you!

We missed the expo but I had heard it was very interesting.

I'm on their mailing list but I didn't know about the groundbreaking today. Their website has no information on it yet either. I hope they get their communication straightened out. I do want to see their models when they are ready to be seen.

Okay.......now I get it.
55+ is a community type living with people you pretty much have a lot in common with.
most 5+ are for active adults. 60 is the new 30. Well maybe a little more???
There is pretty much something for everyone. In a brand new community it is slow to go. I live in Southern Meadows and our activies are coming around slowly. the pool opens this week and many of our residents love it.
our community is friendly. Not sure about all but ours is. My hubby and I have made many friends in one short year. We feel like our neighbors are family.
Any other questions, Just let me know.

I'm new here - so bear with me. I learned that their models will be open in July of this year. I put my parents on their mailing list. My parents live in NJ and are familiar with this builder - JS Hovnanian. They said they will be sending information as it gets approved (floor plans, etc.) to people on their mailing list. What I'm looking for is honest feedback about current 55+ communities in Delaware. My parents are my number one concern, but I am also trying to change my specialty from first-time buyers to active adults. I'd appreciate the input. Thanks!

A fairly extensive conversation on 55+ communities can be found at: http://www.city-data.com/forum/delaw...mmunities.html
Hope this helps.

Elizamary - Thanks for the feedback. I have shown homes in Southern Meadows and it's beautiful. I was most impressed with how large the lots were but also how friendly it felt. Everytime I'm there, there is someone sitting on their porch or working in their yard and they wave every time! I can understand why you love it.

Katiekate,
Where will the new community be located? Will it be a lot rent community?
Also, do you have any idea as to the price range of the homes?
Any info would be apprecitated. We really believe that Longacre is the place for us but are still having fun looking around.
Thanks again!
