I think the area around Roesville will develop and I think both medical and shopping will be closer as time goes on. I just hope it doesn't get TOO close. I do like a little separation between the residential and commercial areas ... just a little.

Thanks susie for taking the time to report your findings. The reports are so beneficial and helpful to everyone.
We live in Magnolia and takes us about 15 to 20 mins to drive to dover.
Just got back from Church and it took about a half hour with the long lights.
All this takes some getting used to but I still wouldn't change it for the world.
We love living in a rural setting.
My guess is........with all the new communities springing up..........there will be more closer shopping available in the future.
I understand from people who have lived here a while...........The change in 10 years has been drastic cuz there was NOTHING around.
We lived in a city setting and was easy to access anywhere but the traffic was horrendous.
The one thing we are really enjoying is the lack of traffic.

Hi Charley: I agree, and there is certainly enough land for well planned medical and shopping centers. A Walmart would be great for starters..

There are two Walmart superstores within ten miles of Felton. One in Camden (about 6 miles) and one in Milford (about 10 miles).

Charley, this is really good to know, not so far. If all these people move into Felton, it would not be long before they build another Walmart right there. I know one thing; once this economy starts to really upswing, there will be all kinds of building in the Felton area.

I agree. There is a "square" area in Delaware with corners at Felton, Frederica, Woodside and Magnolia that is just primed for growth. I just hope it isn't overgrowth.

Very informative post on your trip, CWTR, also looking forward to hearing how Roesville compares as well. Wish we could visit sooner but unfortunately things are a little up-in-the-air here so we can't plan too far into the future but are hoping in the next few months, til then we appreciate the opinions of those who are able to get there and those who are getting links and doing research (whew, sorry for the long run-on sentence, LOL).

We'll be coming down to continue our research on Dec 26, 27 and 28. [Some associated content appears in our off-topic thread].

Camden is not that far from Roesville. Just come up Route 15 to 13. Would probably take you 10 or 15 more mins than us in Magnolia.
And the wal mart is great. One stop shopping!!
