Speaking of Roesville, today we received a letter thanking us for our past visit and to consider coming again. They touted their clubhouse with indoor and outdoor pools and unless all of this was built since our visit 3 months ago in Sept, then I question their use of the present tense wording in the letter. We still do like their homes and will visit again next spring, however.

It is really pretty here, nice for those who can sit home and enjoy.
Thanks for the update on CC, PA... Now let's pray it stops snowing...they gotta build our house!

Good morning

Sorry Can't wait o retire.......I just saw thing.

We have quite a bit of snow. Not sure of the inches but it's in drifts.

I understand it's a century thing. Once a century.

Our community removed the snow from the streets and they did a wonderful job .
Friday night they came around and poured brine ? on the streets then the plow came through as the snow accumulated.
We still have our 2 car drive way and walk way to do. I was out with our electric snow shovel (first time I used it in 3 years) . Went the wrong way and dumped snow on my head. when I came in my hair was a block of ice. Anyone ever have frozen hair. My first time.

Hi Little eggplant
We went back when trying to decide on a community.....it drove me nuts.
Was such a relieve when we finally put money done on this house.
It felt right and we figured what ever happens........we will make it work.
Main thing is, we had everything we ever wanted and more.

There has been a flurry of activity @ CC this past week. Two are in progress, I think both with basement, on the same side as the models. Is one of these yours? Also homes are at various stages throughout the community. We can see the cranes lifting the frames. It's great to see so much happening there now. They must have had some terrific incentives. Nice to see the available lots with "sold" on them. Now in our community, there are two resales and nothing seems to be happening down the road. Can't remember the last time construction equipment has been in our neighborhood.

Thanks PA and ElizaMary for the DE snow updates! Hope we don't get any more wet stuff before our visit there next Monday to do out site visit. PA - appreciated the construction update for CC.....will be fun to see some homes in the construction process. Like susie C....we hope for some warmer, drier weather for our basement excavation which should start in the next couple of weeks.

No, PA, we didn't opt for a basement. Would have loved one but it was a pretty expensive option. I'm hoping we can use the crawl space for some boxes like Xmas stuff, etc. One community we looked at actually had a storage area with an internal staircase standard.
Even if we are retired, we are all victims of this economy in one way or another. Talk about the trickle down effect....
Your community looks lovely and is in a great location. I'm sure once things begin to pick up the cranes will be back. I look forward to meeting you.

Will be great meeting you too SusieC. Regarding our homes on the other side of the fairway or open space as it is now classified, I do hope these homes move soon. Our roads are a mess, no plow comes here until the roads are dedicated to the county. CC propably has a contract for snow removal so folks over there are not stuck in a storm.

Our streets need paving too and we must wait until most of the homes are sold b4 the county will touch them. We have great neighbors though. This morning our neighbor across the street took another neighbor to his job @ Bayhealth in Milford. Yesterday, people were out helping others up and down the street. This snow was great at getting people together.

Just dropping in from the western side of the Appalachian Mountain to let you all know that I got about 4 1/2 to 5 inches of that snow and I'm supposed to get some more snow come Christmas day and over the weekend, now it's coming from the Northwest and it may make it over the mountains towards y'all but I figure by the time it gets to y'all it's just going to be a little dusting if any at all. Being a native Marylander myself, I know the worst snows come up from the south and get very little from the West, but this last snowfall was real wide across the entire area.

we're from arizona, transplanted from new york. we've been looking at De for several years now and have similar questions like charley but we're more interested in sussex county. can anybody help us? we would like to settle more towards the Md. border like Bridgeville,Laurel, Seaford, etc. who should we contact to get truthful answers and I don,t trust realtors who tell you what you want to hear. we are both retired,so it's just a matter of leaving and finding the right place.
