LOL,

"The sun always comes up a little while later after I wake up. So if I die in my sleep and don't wake up....then I will assume the sun will not come up." If you die in your sleep and dont wake up...you wont be assuming anything, you will be dead.

Too Funny....made my day at work.

I was told by my dentist and another (non-dental docter) though.

It's true and that is why before any surgery and often many dental works are surgery, one needs to be off supplements 5 days or so before surgery.

Not true....

And one should ALWAYS consult the doctor or dentist regarding what vitamins or supplements should be started or stopped before a given procedure

The notion that Vitamin C "blocks" local anesthetics is not true and many docs/dentists actually have their patients BEGIN taking Vitamin C several days before a scheduled procedure...

Vit C does have a blood thinning role and why would anyone take Vit C before any surgery, dental or otherwise. We want our blood to clot after surgery...same goes with OPCs, they thin blood. I got off these before hip surgery and right back on a couple days later...to avoid clotting.

How Vitamin C works in the Body

My surgeon had me on aspirin after surgery and I paid attention but also took my Vit C and grape seed ex. Many surgeons have their patients on coumodin after surgeries.

Not necessarily. It depends on the surgery and comorbidities, Doctor.

Oh so we should just let the bleeding go on, ok to lose more and more blood during a surgical procedure.

Correction: We want our blood NOT to clot after surgery...hence the blood thinners prescribed my surgeons.

A decrease in blood clotting does not equal blood loss, Doctor. There are many situations where blood thinners are taken before, during, and after surgery. But you already knew that.

Vitamin C is NOT an anticoagulant (run to google and look the term up jamin)

Many docs DO prescribe/suggest Vitamin C BEFORE elective procedures..

YOU really need to stop giving medical advice because you are dangerously mistaken 99% of the time
