This would be a non negotiable deal breaker for me. Either she starts brushing or I start walking.

Yeh.. it would be hard for me to get together with someone who has bad breath or bad hygiene (and my expectations are rather basic/nothing excessive). At the very least, some mouthwash daily.

I think teeth are somewhat gene related. I do brush before bed, floss once every few days, and daily mouthwash. However, I haven't been to the dentist in over 15 years. I eventually had to go in to remove my wisdom teeth (hard to clean them.. one developed a cavity). The dentist didn't believe me when I told him how long it has been since I had them cleaned by a dentist. He was also amazed that my teeth were all straight despite having all 4 wisdom teeth erupted with no problems. Only 1 cavity the one in the wisdom tooth to removed. I don't eat too many sweets either but I am a heavy coffee drinker (black only)

Fight fire with fire.....Start eating raw garlic and see if she complains...If she does, make a pact with her to get her to start brushing...

I have sort of done that, except I do it after brushing so it's a mint aroma. Somehow I think she'd be loving the nasty garlic smell but would oppose the mint.

Well, in that case, unless she is an oversexed millionairess of exeeding pulchritude who owns a liquor distributorship, I personally would move on to find a gal who practices sedulous hygiene....!

Since you have spoken with her on this topic.

Now you need to make a decision.

Live with it, or move on.

I suspect that this one behavior is a good indication of her entire lifestyle, ie, all other forms of personal hygiene.

Since brushing teeth is fairly easy one has to wonder what other hygiene areas she's letting drift a bit.

You need to break up with your gf.

If she can't brush her teeth, she probably lacks care in the rest of her hygiene and health.

Furthermore, if she can't be concerned with something as simple as brushing her teeth, then in what other areas is she being careless about?

I'd hate to know what type of mother and wife she'd be if she can't even keep up with the most basic responsibilities.

Refuse to kiss her anymore and tell her why.

Not only is it disgusting that anyone would not brush their teeth; if you choose to kiss that person you're setting yourself up for infection because gingivitis and periodontitis-causing bacteria can be passed between couples.
