It means the tooths root got too dried out from the root canal and it fractured, it's a hairline crack all the way to the root. There is no saving it.

I know this is a really old thread but I hope you’re still there! My root canal with a crown has been bothering me real bad but it doesn’t hurt when I bite down it hurts around the gum area and my jaw hurts /feels sore. It’s causing me headaches and my body too! X rays show no infection and regular dentists say it looks fine. I don’t know what to do anymore because it’s like a constant dull ache there. It’s not sensitive to cold or hot and it hurts around the gums and radiating upward toward my other teeth. It’s been like this for 2 months and I don’t know what to do anymore. How did yours feel? Did it feel like a dull pain soreness or was it like you couldn’t bite down or nothing? I can bite down fine it’s just a dull constant pain there

Yes well I had to get referred to and I have an appointment Monday but I have decided to change dentists and I’m going to see my new one next week. Might get another opinion then ask to be referred. I’m wondering if anyone else experienced this

Get to that endodontist. You will be glad you did.

Tooth pain is no fun, and for me, I want that pain gone like yesterday.

I have been checking to see if you had updates. An endodontist can tell you what is going on with your root canals.

Good luck! Let us know.

Definitely go back to the endodontist. I had to have root surgery months after the root canal to remove all the remaining infection.
