"Post and crown" is, I believe, what he called it. I suppose this means I shouldn't delay until there are not enough roots left to support the post? I really hate going to the dentist.

You definitely shouldn't wait. PS I hate going to the dentist too but I force myself to go because the option (losing my teeth) is just unthinkable

A root canal does not remove the root. A root canal removes the nerve from inside the root. The root is still there.

Right. I meant before they decayed away. Will they? Currently, it's not bothering me at all. I would have to guess that the nerve(s) died a natural death!
