Tomorrow Tony's flying out of town. Last time I got truly FUBARred (well, almost), for I was driving round and round in the economy East lot for about 25 minutes, pushing frustration on finding a spot. And a bizarre kiddo habit took over me. I started reciting Hail Mary's like I used to before tough exams, for fear of Daddy, back when I was 10 or 11. Funny that when I actually boarded my flight the event triggered sweet childhood memories

I would hate for it to happen again. Any good parking tips? Anyone lets you book in advance?

My peers recommended Pike's peak parking lot, but I check on the website and it says it's always FULL

I always park in the Terminal West parking structure, level 1, near the furthest north elevators. But at $18/day it can get pretty expensive.

I've never had a problem finding a spot in the economy East lot (though I haven't been there major holidays). I typically drive at least half way across it before I start looking for a spot, relatively close to the exit.

I've never had a problem with parking at DIA and I fly a few times per year and also around Christmas. Depending on the time of year, parking in Economy East can be tough, but even then I've always found a space provided that the lot wasn't closed/full. As far as Pikes Peak goes, if the lot is full, they open the Mt. Elbert lot, which is the overflow lot for Pikes Peak. If you drive to the Pikes Peak lot and find that it's full when you arrive, there are signs that you can follow to get to the Mt. Elbert lot.

Good luck! Just give yourself some extra time so that you don't get too stressed if you need to spend some time finding a parking space.

Thanks, guys

So, cowboy, any idea how much time shuttle takes to reach the terminal East from the Pikes peak lot?

I always do Pikes Peak and drive down to rows DD or JJ on the north side. There is always space down there and once you are picked up by the shuttle there are no further stops before the terminal. On the return trip, you get dropped off last, but then, I'm not trying to catch a plane on a schedule. It only takes an additional 15 minutes to get to the terminal and at $5 per day, its downright affordable, especially when you go on 2 week trips. I've only had to park in Mt Elbert once and that was during the thanksgiving weekend chaos.

It depends. My estimate is 20-30 minutes total, depending on where you park in the Pikes Peak lot, since the shuttle makes additional stops before leaving the lot, unless you park near the last shuttle stop.

I usually end up arriving at my gate obnoxiously early, but I like to give myself enough time so that I don't get stressed.

Think I picked the worst day to fly. Taking off right now at 12:27 instead of 8:05
