Default What is the best state park for walking and photography

My wife and I just moved to Buckley AFB. We really like it here for its outdoor reputation. So far after two weeks we have visited cherry creek park and we like it because of the many trails and opportunities to see some wildlife to take pictures. What other parks are there that will be the same or better than cherry creek park.

Thanks

Ruben

Take a drive up to Estes Park and go over Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park. Highest highway on the continent/ Continental Divide. Tons of trails and lakes in the park.

The best State Park that is the closest to Denver is Eldorado Canyon State Park
http://parks.state.co.us/Parks/Eldor...anyonHome.aspx

Here is a map of the park

Most newcomers would have never heard of this gem. Eldorado Canyon is just right south of Boulder of of 93. The park is just about 3 miles up from 93. You will go through a little town of Eldorado Springs which is famous for Mountain Climbing along the steep clifts. The city has a spa and is noted for the spring water
Eldorado Natural Spring Water

It has an interesting history Eldorado Natural Spring Water and at one time provided a train trip from Denver.

It has an extensive amount of wildlife. The best thing about this park is that it is so close to the metro area. This a great place for pictures and hiking.
