I just moved to Denver and am having trouble finding a rec (mens or coed) soccer team to play on. Everything I seem to find online is either pick-up games or competitive teams. Pick-up games are fun, and competitive is great but I really just want something in between.

Any help is appreciated!

Jason

A bump to this. I've had my eye out for a similar experience but found the same thing the OP found. Could be that we just have to start something =)

I was thinking the same thing! Where I used to live there were so many leagues and there were teams always looking for anybody to play. Some years I played on 3-4 teams a week...

You can play co-ed and maybe men’s league soccer out at dicks sporting goods park. Check out the social and sport club website. http://www.socialandsportsclub.com/CitySportsHome.aspx?CID=25&SID=11

I think there is also adult league soccer information on the Dicks website.

I'd say just play the pick up games for a bit and I'm sure if you are the right talent fit somebody will invite you to join their team. I do have to say I tried to get myself into a team for a bit, but everyone was super picky about who they wanted after saying they were just trying to get a team together. One guy said they were looking for coed players between 26-30 who had played before, but not super competitively like in high school varsity and who lived close by so they could get together on short notice. Seemed like he was trying to set up a dating service, not a soccer team.
