Interesting.... I used ABF's Relocube thing (you pack a "cube" at their facility, which they then ship it to your destination city for pickup).... that only cost us like 5 or 6 hundred...

OP needs 12' of a trailer. You would need 3 Cubes to cover the same cubic feet. (12' of trailer = 918 , 1 cube = 336) Also distance and season can cause very different pricing.

I looked at the cube option too, I don't remember exact pricing, but I think for my 7-8 feet it was 2 cubes at 2500$ and the truck itself was 2100$

The truck option for me at least was much cheaper

We needed a 16' box (two relocubes) and it was about $2000 with UPack. The Penske truck option with gas for a 1000 mile trip cost us $1200 (since there was a $100 web discount and $200 AAA discount) - So, we went with the drive-our-own instead.

I'm doing the CT to Denver thing (packing was yesterday). I am - so far - very happy with the moovers team (found them via movingscam.com). Of course, as I watch them pack my stuff, I realize that my own hell would involve a continued packing and moving - so no upack for me

I added storage, but 3bedroom 5000lbs worth of furniture/stuff right over 5k.
