I'm coming next week to interview in Denver for 2-3 days.

Where should I stay? Cost is a factor, unfortunately, but any inexpensive hotel recommendations would be great. I know Denver is a big city, but are there any campgrounds on the outskirts where I could stay?

What should I do? I'd like an authentic experience because I fully intend on moving there in November once I secure a position.

What areas of Denver should I see, visit, drive, or walk through? I'm not at all familiar with the area and would like to scope out potential areas to live in.

Also which areas should I stay out of during the day, or especially during the night? Male, 26... but still...

Thanks everyone! Very excited about my interviews and move.

For a job interview, I's say, stay in a motel close to where the interview will take place. You need to be able to shower, hang up your clothes, etc.

There's Cherry Creek State Park for camping, just outside of Denver. Is the interview in Denver or Colorado Springs? They're not the same; they're about 70 miles apart.

Good Luck!

I've corrected the typo. I will be interviewing in Denver, Colorado Springs AND Boulder over 10 days.

Sleep Inn DTC (at Arapahoe Rd and I-25) is very reasonably priced and nice.

Hello from Littleton CO!

2 other options for camping come to mind: Chatfield State Park on the southwest side of Denver, and Bear Creek State Park on the west side (both somewhat central to the areas (about 75 mins to Co Springs, 45 mins to Boulder). You should have access to showers in the parks, though it's cooling down at night (October is when we typically get our first snowfall).

Several inexpensive hotels along I-70 near Golden/Arvada/Wheat Ridge as well. Might check out the Hampton Inn or Motel 8.

Ideas to do:
Catch a Rockies baseball game (Rockpile seats are <$10 and they're on a winning streak)
Check out LoDo and 16th Street (bars, restaurants and street stuff)
Visit Pearl Street mall in Boulder (same)
Take a hike around Red Rocks Amphitheater
Catch some sun/fish/swim at Chatfield State Park
Explore old town Golden and tour Coors brewery
Bring a bike and ride the miles of trails and paths connecting throughout Metro Denver

Good luck with your interviews!

Bryan
