Hi,
I am currently in the process of moving from Cincinati to Denver. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to live?
I am an under 30, single, female. I'm hoping to find an area where there is plenty of nightlife, weekend activities, a great opportunity to meet new people, but is also safe (ha! aren't most people looking for that??) where i live now is historically urban, in that, it has older, victorian type homes and apartments but is very near the downtown area. i like this type of environment.

does anyone have any suggestions for me? i'd like to keep rent around $1500/month

thanks!!

Where is work? What would you like your new community to have (besides bars)?

I think Capital Hill area is cool and wash park if you can afford it. There are also some great lofts and apartments downtown and in uptown.

You might also check the Highlands area, very nice and only 5 minutes to downtown, bars, nightlife shopping etc.

You would love it anywhere within a 2 mile radius of downtown.

thanks everyone!
@ 2BinDenver: i want the typical stuff: bars, restaurants, shopping, sports, festivals, concerts. It is a lot to ask, but I want to be somewhere with a lot of activities, but not too crazy and feel relatively safe.
I will be travelling around Denver and throughout other states so I won't have an 'office' I need to worry about getting to. I keep hearing Washington Park is a great area so I might focus my attention there.

wash park has the park but not much of the other things you are looking for. i would check out baker or west wash park for older victorian homes close to nightlife and an easy bike or bus ride downtown.

LoDo is too expensive. You would probably like East Highlands, West Highlands a bit too family oriented. However, I think Capitol Hill is the best short-term landing sport for newcomers as it is relatively affordable and has lots of apartments available at any given time, from there you can find out what you like.

Default Cincy to Denver

I am actually working on making the same move, however targeting a different area. I have a few contacts in the area that are helping me. My targeted time frame is 3wks to 6months. Mainly tied to finding a job first.
