Parker CO questions. (Denver, Castle Rock, Stonegate: oceanfront, relocating, real estate)

driving to downtown denver during the week is the one drawback to living in denver.....it can take awhile.

I-225 & Parker Rd is not really an option as that intersection is in Aurora and there is a lot of conjestion between here and there (I avoid it at all costs during peak traffic times).

Getting to Lincoln and I-25 is a snap though.

Depending on the time, you could be looking at 45 minutes plus to get to downtown denver from parker, worse if you live further back (west or south) in parker.

I have found that most of the people i know work in the southern sections of the metro area.

I am moving to the Denver area soon and was looking at the Parker area. It looks like you get a lot more home and land (many 1+ acre lots) for your money then in Highlands Ranch. I am looking to spend no more than $450k. Any thoughts on Parker v. Highlands Ranches?

Parker is a town that has both suburban areas and rural areas. Highlands Ranch is a subdivision...the epitome of suburban lifestyle.

We just bought a home in canterberry crossing in parker and we love the feel of the city. I was wondering if anyone had any input on there experiences since they've lived there and their opinion of where they think the city is headed. 2bindenver any thoughts?

It's great. I'm very high on Parker. As the metro area expands it's becoming much more of a mainstay suburb as opposed to exurb it has been for a while. It's got great schools, it's very family-friendly, good family values atomosphere--it's great.

If you want something a little closer to town try Highlands Ranch or Lonetree. I think it's a little more expensive but generally the same type of community.

I live a little northwest of Parker, but, of course, I've been through many times, know many folks who live there. My opinion is very high of the town. Since it's kind of removed from the mammoth Denver metro it has its own little 'atmosphere' and ambiance. It's so tough answering these questions becuase you really just don't know who the other person is. I'm a native suburban Denverite, vote Republican, go to church every week, love SUVs--and I love Parker. Maybe that can tell you a little bit about the kind of folks you'll find in Parker and in most of the metro area. If you're single you might hate it. If you're married with kids you'll probably love it. So you see what I mean--whether you'll love or hate a place totally depends on your situation, your attitudes, etc. But, for what it's worth, Parker is one of my favorite parts of the metro area. I think you'll find it very homey, very welcoming, and quite liveable.

rawlings, you are just like me and my wife. We both vote republican, like suvs, and go to church. Thankyou for eloborating. I think the people we encountered while looking around the area is one of the main reasons we fell in love with it. We are out of state people and we found it very refreshing. I look forward to being a positive addition to the city, and not trying to change it.

I am still interested in the Parker Castle Rock area and was trying to find in Parker newer homes subdivisions especially those with prices in the mid range 400k and below. I was looking a few Engle communities in Castle Rock but not much left availability wise it seems. Can anyone recommend any housing developments in Parker that have new homes?
