The other thing about this move is that I really wanted to consider purchasing a home in the suburbs, but that doesn't seem like it would work for a few reasons:

a) the commute would stink, especially on call

b) the ability to meet people

c) Older population

I still want to consider a suburb, but when I saw them last week, none really impresed me too much. Whereas, those neighborhoods above were awesome.

Mayfair and Montclair are adjacent to each other.
Have you checked out Montclair at all?
There are some nice parks there where I used to take our dog (we lived in Montclair for about 7 years).
The park at 12thth and Richthofen Parkway is particularly nice.

I haven't checked out Montcalir.
Update: I am starting work in July and will be leaving Pittsburgh in April.
I'm going to Denver next month on a ski Holiday.
Hopefully I can find a home and make an offer on a nice place.
If not, how hard is it to find a month to month lease?
