Default Pics of Denver with Mountains

I've seen a lot of good pictures with the city in the foreground and the mountains in the back. I know of some pretty good spots to go the other way, but what are some of the popular spots people are getting these pictures from?

You'll have to butter up somebody that lives over at the Pinnacle for the best shots.

Try St. Josephs, Presbyterian, Kaiser Permanente Hospital complex off of 19th..upper west view floors..best skyline views will be from condo towers along Cheesman Park.

Fthe first picture looks like it was taken from the roof of the nature and science museum. The second picture is from a condo on the northeast side of Cheeseman park.

fyi- you will need to be quite far away from downtown with a very powerful zoom lense to create the illusion that denver is so close to the mountains.

The first shot is taken about 500 - 1000 feet above ground somewhere over East 18th Ave. just East of Colorado Blvd. Notice the shot is about level with the tops of the Downtown buildings. If you don't want rent a helicopter or an airplane, you could get a pretty similar shot from windows of the Nature and Science Museum. But you would be below treetop level, and the treeline will obscure the bottom of the Downtown skyline. Which is not necessarily a bad thing IMHO.

The second shot could be taken from the roof of a high-rise at East 11th Ave. and Race St. But it also looks slightly too high to be taken from a building to me. So I'm inclined to believe that it is also an aerial shot taken from right above the Denver Botanic Gardens. If it was taken from a roof, I think the buildings on the other side of the Park might block part of the view of Downtown. I could be wrong about that though. Either way you can get nice skyline shots from Cheesman Park, even at ground level.

At the east end of City Park looking west you can see the skyline and mountains in the background. It is an amazing view.

You could get the first shot from the balcony of the Nature and Science Museum, it is above tree level and it's likely where that image was shot. But it is not open to the public. I am familiar with this view and space because I shot a TV commercial up there for half a day.

For a MUCH wider view, the west-facing windows from both University Hospital and The Children's Hospital are nice, although shooting from the helicopter pad on top of The Children's Hospital after sunrise is the best!

yes it is, but you have to pay to get into the museum to go up there.

Pardon the graininess, but this was our view from Rose Medical Center the other day.

No skyline in the pic, but this is a real/un-fluffed up view across the city.
