Default Tulsa to Denver (Short term)

Hello all,

Iím an engineering student who recently obtained an internship with a large company in Denver. The contract is from May to August. Coming from Tulsa, OK. Iíve read about the various sides of Denver and want to get a better feel of downtown Denver. How safe is it and is there loft development? What are the pros/cons of living downtown? Costs? How is Denverís public transportation system (Tulsaís is poorly designed)? Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

I was in Tulsa recently (and lived there when I was a kid) and you'll find downtown Denver a pleasant change. Downtown is pretty much THE place to live if you want to be close to bars /nighlife /restaurants. There are hundreds of lofts, many of them condos, that range from around $900/month to insane prices ($5000/mo). If you're on a budget, I'd check out Capitol Hill. You can probably get a 1BR for $750 - $800 in an older building but not a "loft". You can walk downtown and the rents are a little cheaper. Try to get one with a parking spot if you have a car; it's a hassle to park on the street. It's very safe compared to most large cities. Can't really provide info on the transportation but if you're close to downtown I think it's pretty good.
