There's still one Air Force building left there - I know a couple AF people who work there.

How 'bout try the Lowry neighborhood - you can't get any closer that that!

At roughly Monaco and 1st,there is a huge building, it use to be called the AFAFC (Air Force Accounting and Finance Center). It is the only building still in use. I worked in it many years ago and it holds like 3000 employees.

Wow.

Did you say "accounting"? Talk about ironies... maybe I should look into applying there!

Yes, accounting, but not sure what it is used for now? I worked in retired military pay with accountants. I was their IT guy, did their programming and made software recommendations.

you should live on Lowery. It's been developed into a very nice town center community.

Lowry is kind of a redevelopment gone bad. Poor planning, spread out. The place is a DINC heaven but a failed Stapleton -- and property values have reflected that for the past year.

That said, there are plenty of good rentals in that area that will fit your needs and if you choose the right location everything you will need is close by.
