Default Positives about living in Denver

I am moving to Denver in a few months. I am very excited about this. It has taken me years to make this happen. I was wondering if people want to share some of the positive things about living in Denver.

Plenty to do here. How do I not repeat the same list every thread...let's see...

In Denver you have Museums (usually with a free day every month), amazing beer (and some horrific beer, but mostly amazing beer), great little music scene, good theater scene, great art scene (sculpture and public art everywhere, galleries in more places than you realize), one of the best park systems in the country (and the parks are GOOD, too), numerous "Main Streets" to explore (in Denver proper and in the suburbs like Arvada, Englewood, Littleton and even East Colfax in Aurora), lots of active, outdoors people (to go with the active, outdoors weather), open space not far from the city, vibrant downtown (compared to comparable American cities), some pretty good eats around town, great beer, bike paths all over, beer, several institutes of higher education, a growing public transportation system (that is well supported by regional citizens), beer, and...let's see...beer.

And that's just for starters. Notice, I didn't mention the mountains once!

Beautiful mountains, pro-growth and low-tax business environment, spectacular and sunny weather, relatively small metro where it doesn't take hours to get from one end of town to the other, plenty of park space, world class NFL team, classiest MLB team in the league, nice suburbs, great family-friendly atmosphere and ambiance, relatively quiet and low-key nightlife in the vast majority of the area that promotes more family-friendly activities, vibrant Christian community, cheap Mexican food, generally friendly people, National Western Stock Show, and an airport that, although technically in Kansas, services a wide array of cities and countries.

I absolutely love the weather. The diversity. The music. the beer (I believe that was already mentioned ). And ofcourse, the scenery. Road trips have never been so much fun until you explore CO

I live in the actual city of Denver. The positives? I'm within 15 minutes of downtown, Cherry Creek, all stadiums, Elitch's, the aquarium, museums, a bazillion restaurants, running trails, and numerous parks.

Otherwise, I do like the mountains, lack of bugs and miserable humidity, sitting on the front porch on Summer evenings enjoying the perfect weather. Denver is very condusive to outdoor living. Even days in Winter, like today, you'll see people eating outdoors at lunch today. It's a very fun city.

It's a big city in a metro of nearly 3 million. There are plenty of things to do in and around the city, and then of course you have all of the activities of the mountains. The only downsides are the museums are not the best and there is little in the way of water (ocean/lakes) nearby.
