Hi all,
Just moved here so not very familiar with all of the traffic cameras. I am not sure if I triggered a camera or not. I am almost positive that the light was yellow when I entered the intersection. There were no signs posted about traffic cameras - this was at Eighth and Speer, going northbound on Speer towards 9th Avenue. I know that there is a camera going southbound on Speer at this intersection, but is there one going the other direction? I have out of state plates, and no front license plate, so would the ticket go to my out of state address, if I got one? And is it just a fine, or will it up my insurance rates by a ton?

Thanks for any info!

If you entered the light on yellow you have nothing to worry about.

Fines with no points.

If you truly entered the intersection on a yellow, you have no worry.

You'd probably have seen the flash also.

I got nailed a few weeks ago and I definitely saw two flashes, one in the front and one from the rear. I was certain the light was yellow when I was in the intersection but when I got the pictures in the mail, the light was clearly red before my car entered the intersection. I got a fine of I think $75 or so, and it was not reported to the DMV.

The ones we have will flash even if no one is nearby. They automatically flash and take a picture as the light turns from yellow to red. You can run the red light safely if it's already red before you enter the intersection!

Of course you might get t-boned.

Did you know there was a camera there prior? I get nervous when I see a camera, and stop before the white line if I see the light is yellow or red, even if it just turned yellow. I prefer it when someone is in front of me at intersections with cameras there.

I did know about that one. I actually ran it there before about 3 years ago and thought I was gonna get nailed but never got anything in the mail...so that does make sense that the flashes go off whether you ran the light or not.
