Just wanted to let everyone know that I had a positive experience with Denver 311, which is like a general 'help line' where you can report issues to the city, like graffiti, trash, etc.

I didn't have high expectations since I figured there were more pressing issues, but I reported a vacant lot next to my townhome because someone was throwing trash on it, to the point where a mattress and other large items started to show up. I don't know who owns the lot. Code enforcement came out, posted a sign/notice that gave the lot owner some time to clean up, and then after that issued a fine. The mess was cleaned up in about 2.5 weeks, but really, I understand that they had to give the property owner some time to fix the problem before issuing a fine.

I like my neighborhood a lot, but it's kind of 'transitional' in some senses, and there are still quite a few residents who either don't care or don't know any better when it comes to disposing of trash. But yeah, this Denver 311 thing really worked and I was able to resolve the issue. Just thought I'd pass along my positive experience. You can submit a request online and it will let you attach a photo if you want. I attached a photo of the trash to my request.

3-1-1 is a great resource. I've reported graffiti, potholes, trash, etc, and they've always been great about ensuring the city stays clean.
