We just bought a slightly older house in Centennial (80122) that is on a lot of over 9,000 sq. ft. I've heard all about the water issues and will do my best to conserve. We have young kids, and to me, it just isn't always practical to take the kids to a park to play. I'm glad I'll have a yard for them where they can safely play while I may be puttering around the house.

there are some GREAT drought tolerant grasses you can grow here that use quite a bit less water, and look just as good.

I just had an arborist out to give me an estimate on trimming a tree, and he suggested the type of sod that is used for school playgrounds. It's a bit lighter and coarser than blue-grass. I forget the name. Do you have any guesses?

I dont. The landscape Architects that do work for some of our clients have used it in yards of some of the houses we have designed, but I have no idea of the name.

Yes, it would be Buffalo Grass. You can go to the Colorado State University site for a world of info on this subject.
You can search for the CSU Turfgrass program.

Well, I don't like gloating about someone's problems, first off. Secondly, she lives in Highlands Ranch, which is expected to hold its value. It is fairly near the Denver Technological Center, where there are lots of IT jobs.
