Looking to purchase a newer home in Parker or SE Aurora. Any insight into the commute to LoDo from here would be helpful. Especially insight into commuting to the light rail station on I-25 (along Lincoln or the new Parkway in Parker).

I would say this:

From Southlands Mall at E470 and Parker Road, it will take you 15-20 to drive to the Lincoln Rail Station (there will be tolls), and 5 minutes to park and walk to the platform.

Light Rail from Lincoln Station to Union Station in LoDo is 40-45 minutes.

Add in the time it takes you to walk to your destination (probably 10-15 minutes), and you are looking at a commute that is at best an hour and ten minutes, at worst it will be an hour and a half.

Driving may be a little less time (55-60 min?), but it depends on traffic. Plus, you'll pay for parking downtown.

It's a bit pricey, but why not take the express RTD bus instead of messing with the light rail? It's a nice, charter-style bus that runs direct from Parker to Downtown Denver with virtually no stops in between. My co-workers who live down there seem to like this option more the light rail.

Will your job be offering any type of transit pass or subsidies for transit? A monthly pass is $176, but my employer offers EcoPasses and I know that some other employers offer to let you pay this amount with pre-tax dollars.

Edit: Just wanted to say that this would be an option if you chose Parker, but wouldn't be as convenient to SE Aurora.
