I am a cleancut, moderate-conservative family man with kids. Any help or input greatly appreciated.

There are lots of cleancut, moderate-conservative families in Littleton, Englewood, Highlands Ranch, etc. Can't say there's any "culture" in the suburbs, except that most are family oriented. You can search the forum here for previous discussions about the school districts.

No difference in culture between South Metro Denver suburbs and Colorado Springs that I can see. Briargate in the Springs is a carbon copy of Highlands Ranch.

I'm a "cleancut" moderate-liberal family man with kids...whatever that means lol! But the Springs probably has a more social conservative (evangelical Christian) vibe going on than the southern Denver 'burbs.

We have a wide range of people with the majority being moderate independents, mostly families in the southern suburbs. That means there will also be ultra conservatives and liberals mixed in. Pretty much everyone gets along with each other, so I guess if you can't tolerate people of different beliefs/lifestyle you should interview potential neighbors before moving in.

What part of that don't you understand? Are you offended by my self-description cause you are liberal and light in the lofers? LOL !!!!!!! I have already made my decision that the South suburbs are where I can find like-minded moderate conservative family-oriented people.

I have lived both places and I think Littleton, at least is different. I lived near downtown Littleton and also near Federal and Bellevue. I think there is much more of a big city feel having Federal and Santa Fe right there. Of course, it's more straight-laced than Capitol Hill or something but there are still all kinds of people in the area. The Springs always feels smaller to me. I definitely saw a lot more McCain/Palin signs down there when I'd drive down from Littleton to visit my friend around the last election.

Then, if I may ask, why are you asking? You've already determined that southern Denver conforms to a lifestyle (moreso than culture) similar to that of Colorado Springs...why ask?

Denver is very live and let live...even South Denver. If you can stand having liberals next door, moderates across the street and conservatives in a nearby cul-de-sac...and maybe even deal with them getting along...I don't think you'll have a problem.

Personally I feel the area is mostly devoid of culture, but there are a lot of family types that really like the area, it's shopping and educational facilities. I just tend not to think of suburbs (any suburbs, regardless of political orientation) as having a "culture"...more of an escape from culture. Just my opinion.

Default Lock up your children . . .

Just so you're aware, I'm an avowed NorCal-style liberal living in the south Denver 'burbs, and I have LOTS of similarly-thinking friends!

Sorry, couldn't help myself. These threads crack me up!

Seriously though, I think you'll find your crowd in either place.
