I think Denver General is supposed to be the best for serious things such as gun shot wounds, serious car accidents.

Speaking as a out of city person the hospital I would go to in Denver would be, and is, UC Medical Center in Aurora. In my opinion its the best hospital in the state and region. I think its a level 1 trauma center as well.

Here is the US News list of the best hospitals in the Denver and their specialties.

According to the American College of Surgeons, Denver has four Level 1 Trauma Centers:
St. Anthony Central, Denver Health Medical Center, Swedish Medical Center, and Children's Hospital (Pediatric Level 1).

If it's an emergency, I'd say the closest hospital may be the best choice.

Sometimes you have to reach the right place to avoid being transferfed to another hospital and being simple treated at first hospital.

If you get a brain or spinal injury, Craig Hospital is the place to be

I should know, I served food there during my high school years

St Anthony Central is closing/moving. Not sure if they're intending to retain level 1 status. Having talked with some ER staff from Denver Health, they're not pleased.

The new hospital has been fully planned and equipped for Leveil 1 Trauma

Features at the New Hospital

They have made it very clear all the capabilities at the website

Level 1 Denver Schock Trauma Center - St Anthony Hospital

If the reading is too much, here is a little video
http://www.stanthonyhosp.org/newhospital

What makes this hospital special is that it is right near the new Federal Station on the West Light Rail Line which will open in 2013. That is really good coordinated planning.

Is you statement just empty gossip or do you have a good reason for stating that these so-called ER Staff are "not pleased"?
